TGIF what's new?????
Supper didn't sit well last nite and lost it all, so "The Kemminator" is a little grouchy this morning.
Got a case (16 qts) of strawberries yesterday -- managed to get 9 qts done - some in the freezer, some to eat, and took biscuits and containers of prepared berries to my lady next door and the couple across the street (the husband does a lot for me and won't take anything for it). Have to finish the other 7 qts this afternoon.
Going to go check out the DS's garage sale later this afternoon.
Other than that not much planned for the weekend.
Off to work now.

Margo and all my OFF family,
Lots of people off today so it's quiet so thought I'd take a moment to write my dear OFF family. We've been so busy at work and life in general.
Last weekend we went to Dayton, Ohio for the weekend. We had to drive both the car and truck because Brenda is going to be there for training for two weeks. CJ and I came home on Sunday. She's not coming home this weekend even though it's only 2 hours away because of the gas prices. It's not $4.19 a gallon. BTW, we did buy a new car a couple weeks ago. We ended up getting a KIA Sportage with heated leather seats...a requirement to keep us warm after freezing constantly.
Margo, we enjoyed the Strawberry Festival but it poured rain all day long. Not as much fun that way. Always next year.
I haven't had time to check the boards at all and I'm paying the price. A friend from the Indiana board sent me a personal that I hadn't reserved a cabin for the OFF Campout and now they only have one for Friday night, not Saturday. Guess it will be a short weekend unless one opens up. We're on a waiting list for Saturday. I need to call and make reservations tonight for our OFF trip to Holiday World on June 27th. Hope I'm not too late for that.
Hope everyone is doing well. I'll be glad when work slows down so I can keep up with everyone again. I haven't even had time to work on the directory. Will try this week.
Brotherly hugs,
Floyd
Well, here it is 6:15 a.m. and I'm plopped at my favorite spot for chatting with all of you. The sun is just peeking over the top of Haleakela and turning the ocean golden and shimmering. There is an outrigger canoe gliding past and the palm trees are swaying gently....a very peaceful and beautiful beginning to Friday on Maui.
Yesterday I saw my bariatric doc and got a lot of positive reinforcement. I told him of my stomach problems and he is ordering a CT scan in the next few days. However, he said my blood work looked perfect, and I am .. and I quote "A SKINNY WOMAN BUT A HEALTHY WOMAN." He said don't let anyone tell me I look too thin or unhealthy......they are just jealous!! Isn't he a sweet doctor!!!! I love him......Ha! So..after talking with him, I am going to quit worrying and just LIVE, eat and be happy. Hopefully the CT scan will show anything that might be wrong with gall bladder, etc...but I'm just not going to stress about it until something shows up to worry about....so there!!
Last night I went out to dinner with a visitor from Colorado who also had our surgery 3 years ago. A friend of mine wanted me to meet her and share our stories. She has lost 145 lbs. AND still needs to lose another 50. She reminded me of myself about six months ago......she had big buh-tocks!! Made me realize that my bodacious buh-tocks have really rather disappeared....and are replaced with flat, boney ones that need a pillow to avoid pain from sitting on bones! The surprises just keep coming!! It was interesting to hear her story of having the surgery without any training beforehand. No classes, no meetings with nutritionist, no psychological tests, etc. I hear stories like hers and I'm especially blessed for having had that year of intensive training, support group meetings, etc. Oh, by the way...for dinner I had a chicken caesar salad and ate maybe half of it. My new WLS friend had a hamburger and sweet potato french fries! Does that tell you anything?????
Today is a free day....so I'm doing my hour on the lanai in my teeny tiny, itty bitty bikini (not really..just a strapless tank) while sipping a pina colada (not really.....ice water), and flirting with the gardeners (not really.....just giving them the thumbs up for a job well done!). So..I'M NOT REALLY doing much of anything today......love it!!
Here's hoping you are all staying out of harm's way.........and feeling wonderful. You ARE all gems.......of every size, shape, color and personality...and I love you all for sharing your lives with me!
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen
